Possibly then it could be cost effective. People could park across the street or in the neighborhood.Doug Duckworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15684467055184767166noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14698828.post-9792738211419074722009-07-21T10:34:56.466-07:002009-07-21T10:34:56.466-07:00$1,000,000.00 That guy is just crazy. So not only come up with 1 mil but also the cost to tear the building down and build a new building. This is a case where the city should use eminent domain and put a governmnet function there. 1 million. That guy needs to have a V8.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14698828.post-6518869480787596702009-07-21T08:13:28.059-07:002009-07-21T08:13:28.059-07:00I went to a really cool old theater in Dallas that...I went to a really cool old theater in Dallas that had removed all the seats, terraced the sloping floor, put in tables and served pizza & beer during (18th run) movies. I always daydreamed about doing that with the Avalon.LisaShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08891381138208838189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14698828.post-83474515378870861782009-07-21T06:04:43.373-07:002009-07-21T06:04:43.373-07:00Responses from the Southampton listserve include:

I was heart broken when it closed. 1 million seems a bit steep considering the neighborhood and how rundown it must be inside after being abandoned for years. I hope it gets snatched up - I'd love to see the return of the neighborhood theater!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13793239920648658851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14698828.post-944645094279344322009-07-20T14:03:34.088-07:002009-07-20T14:03:34.088-07:00I drive by this building daily, and have been hopi...I drive by this building daily, and have been hoping someone would rescue it.
