Forest Park Side Trail

Recently we were walking in Forest Park and turned down a side trail looking for a short cut across the park. The trail takes you by restored water courses and vegetation, stone water falls, lily gardens, and then, surprisingly, this tiny stone amphitheater.

There's no sign leading to this delightful and romantic spot. You'd never know it was there without venturing off the main road and down the side trail. It makes you wonder how many other hidden treasures there are scattered throughout the remade Forest Park or planned for its future?

Where might we find this? Do you have a GPS location that you could use to link to the embedded map in PicasaWeb?

I don't do GPS (STL Rising is decidedly non-techie).

That said, if you follow the water from in front of the Muny entrance northeast towards the north entrance to the upper Muni parking lot, I think you'll find it.

Here, I think.

The location is correct and the image is exact, but the labeling is wrong.

The theater is on a foot trail, not Government Drive.

Yes, Google seems to be confused. There are several trails that are labeled as if they are roads. Some of these seem to be locations where roads were removed as part of the Forest Park Master Plan restoration of the park.
