St. Louis is known as a city of neighborhoods, with each having its own character and various pluses and minuses. There are many great neighborhood choices.
As neighborhoods work to improve, they want to know what potential new residents are looking for in a new neighborhood. If you were thinking of moving, what would be your top three priorities in selecting a new neighborhood?

1. river view
2. unique space
3. diverse group of neighbors
My top choices would be:
1. Safety
2. Sense of community
3. Proximity to shopping, schools, etc.
Right now, I live in North Hampton and our neighborhood has all three of these qualities. As we start a family, I could see us staying put or moving to St. Louis Hills, Clifton Heights, Lindenwood Park, or possibly even Lafayette Square or back to Tower Grove South, where I lived for a few years.
My top three are:
1) Diversity
2) Affordability
3) Public Transit Accessibility
So, Benton Park West is great for me - although I wish there were more stores and restaurants. And being closer to MetroLink would be nice, too.
1. perceived safety
2. walkable, mixed uses
3. transit access
Hence, North Hampton for now.
