Like the green hills of California seen only a few months of the year, views of the River Des Peres filled with water are a rare treat.
Wouldn't it be nice if it always looked this way? Perhaps a dam near the mouth of Mississippi is the way to do it. I wonder what it would smell like in summer...

As someone who lives near River Des Peres, I actually love it when it is as it is right now: full! It looks way better than having a huge concrete trench near your house. I wish there were some way they could put a small dam over by River City that could keep it full of rainwater at least during the nicer months of the year. Seeing as how the city is giving us the lovely trails of the River Des Peres Greenway project, you'd think they'd want us to have something nice to look at as well.
